I combined various sources of the recipe (All Recipes, Martha Stewart and chef Michael Smith) to come up with some sort of compromise between all of them, and here's what I came up with.
What you’ll need:
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
For topping/coating:
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until creamy, then add the eggs and the vanilla.
In a separate bowl, blend the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt, then add to the butter mixture.
Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.
Mix the 2 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon. Roll the balls of dough in the mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. The cookies should be crackled but still shiny in the center.
Remove from baking sheets onto cooling racks.
Cool and enjoy!!!
And look at that... I'll end up being the first to comment/rate/review/annoy/tease on your new blog! ;-p
ReplyDeleteHaving been given a sample of theses snickerdoodles for X-Mas, I can wholeheartedly cry out: HOLY MOFO CINNAMON-Y AWESOME! ***** (see that? that's five stars for ya!)
They are soooooo good, and moist, and cinnamon-y and good, did I mention good? ;-)
Now, it's true that, in the past, your blog updating was maybe not up to par... so if you want, I can definitely remind you once in a while to update this one? hehehe you know, more to annoy you than anything else!
Aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddd, if you start limiting the amount of recipes you make because you find you can't eat them all, well, there is always the possibility of keeping a few batches frozen and then sending *somebody* a care-package once in a while!!! ;-)
(Maybe I could exchange for something... bread and cheese come readily to mind)
Ok, well, keep up the awesome work! your blog has been incorporated into my daily RSS Reading Routine (My RSSRR if you will). Can't wait to see more!
